Frequently Asked Questions 

We’ve compiled this list of frequently asked questions to help you prepare for the Assembly.  If we’ve missed anything, contact AOPA Staff at Assembly@AOPAnet.org to get your question(s) answered.

Location
Where is the 2025 National Assembly Located?
The 2025 National Assembly will be held at the Orange County Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
 
What hotel is the official headquarters hotel?
The 4-star Hyatt Regency Orlando will serve as the headquarters hotel. The Hyatt Regency Orlando is located at 9801 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. It is connected to the Orange County Convention Center via a skywalk.

Why Orlando?
Orlando’s airport has a good flight load with a large number of direct flights, making it an affordable destination. Additionally, Orlando offers world-class attractions and dining. The proximity of the hotel, meeting space, and entertainment brings people together, and isn’t that what the National Assembly is all about? 

What is the dress code?
The dress code for the National Assembly is business casual. Please note that hotels and convention centers often run cold, so plan accordingly.

Call for Papers
When did the Call for Papers open?
The Call for Papers opened on November 21, 2024.

When is the Call for Presentations deadline?
The Call for Presentations deadline was Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. 

Who can submit?
Anyone with relevant expertise, experience, knowledge, or research can submit a presentation or proposal.

What can I submit?
There are options to submit individual papers or presentations to all tracks: Business Education, Clinical (Free Papers), Digital, Pedorthic, and Technical. Individual papers and presentations will be combined to create a full session. The amount of time allotted for the paper/presentation will be decided by the workgroup chair.

There is also an option to submit a full session (Sympoisum) to all tracks: Clinical (Free Papers), Digital, Pedorthic, and Technical. Full sessions should feature around 3-4 presenters and will be a 90-minute presentation slot.

Registration
How do I register for the National Assembly?
Registration is now open>> The early bird registration deadline will be July 19, 2025.  Special instructions will be available for exhibitors at a later date.

Are any meals included with my registration?
The Full Conference registration fees include three breakfasts, two lunches, and the welcome reception.  Coffee breaks are also included on Thursday and Friday. 

Can my guest(s) attend meeting functions, as well?
You are encouraged to bring your spouse, friends, and/or family to the National Assembly.  All such attendees must register as guests in order to participate in meeting activities. There is a fee for guest registrations. Guest badges are labeled Guest as the badge type and cannot be changed.  Children under the age of 11 may attend the meeting for free and do not need to register.

Who qualifies as a Guest? 
Guest registration includes, emeritus practitioners, residents, spouses and other family members over the age of 18.  Those employed by an orthotic, prosthetic or Pedorthic businesses are not eligible to register under this category.  Attendees registering under this category do not qualify to earn CE Credits.

Can I cancel my registration?
To receive a refund of registration fees, less a $100 processing fee, notifications of cancellation must be received in writing no later than July 31, 2025. Please email your cancellation request to Assembly@AOPAnet.org.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after July 31, 2025. Substitutions are allowed but must be made in writing.

How can I buy tickets for special events?
When you complete the National Assembly registration form, you have the option to purchase tickets for special events during the meeting. If you would like to purchase tickets after you have already registered, email Assembly@AOPAnet.org. 

Can I purchase event tickets when I get to the meeting?
A limited number of tickets for special events may be available at the registration desk. But, these tickets will only be available on the condition that the event has open seats, we strongly suggest that you purchase your tickets in advance.

CE Credits
How many CE credits can I earn?
Once the program is finalized in May, we will reach out to the accreditation bodies to receive the total number of BOC and ABC credits for the event. Generally, you earn 1 CE per hour of approved education. Credits onsite are also given for visiting the Exhibit Hall, Product Manufacturer Workshops, and Product Preview Theater presentations.  With a full conference registration, you can also access any concurrent session credits you missed through the Virtual Assembly.

Typically, 100+ CE credits can be earned between the in-person and virtual assembly. 

Do I have to scan my badge for every session?
Yes. To receive credit, please scan your badge at the beginning of each session. Please note that your badge may be scanned at only one concurrent session at a time. Those scanning at multiple concurrent sessions will not receive credit.

With the concurrent education sessions, may I scan in and attend multiple sessions?
No. You may only scan into one concurrent session at a time. Those scanning at multiple concurrent sessions will not receive credit.  However, you will have the opportunity to participate in those sessions you missed by taking advantage of the virtual component of the meeting.

Do I earn CE Credits for attending the Exhibit Hall?
Yes, you can earn 3 CE Credits from ABC and 5 from BOC.  Simply complete the Exhibits Passbook (available onsite) or the CE credit form from ABC or BOC.

Are CE Credits available for participating in presentations at the Product Preview Theater?
Yes, just make sure your badge is scanned for any presentation you attend. 

Can I register for the virtual portion of the meeting only?
Yes, you will need to select virtual registration as the registration type.

When will I receive my credits?
Approximately 60 days post show you should see your earned credits in your ABC or BOC account.

Is there a National Assembly App?
The app will be released in August 2025, and the link sent to all registrants so it can be downloaded.

Virtual Assembly

Will there be a Virtual Assembly?
Yes, the in-person sessions will be available as part of the Virtual Assembly that will run from September 25-November 25. Full conference registrations include complimentary access to this, in case you miss any sessions onsite!
